Diljit Dosanjh is presently gearing up for his sixth Bollywood release, Goof Newwz, alongside Akshay Kumar, Kareena Kapoor and Kiara Advani. The superstar of Punjabi cinema has previously appeared in five Hindi film, Udta Punjab, Phillauri, Welcome to New York, Soorma and Arjun Patiala, of which Udta Punjab was the only one to garner both good reviews and emerge a moderate success at the box-office. So, Diljit Dosanj is obviously banking a lot on Good Newwz to deliver his first clean hit in Bollywood. However, did you know that the actor had not only almost passed up the opportunity to do the film, but had also previously declined to work with Dharma Productions all because he was skeptical.

In an interview with Deccan Chronicle, Diljit revealed that he was about to pass up the opportunity to work with Dharma a second time, and ended up doing the film only on his manager's behest. "I was called to work with Dharma Productions earlier as well. This time, too, I was wondering whether to work with them or not. However, my manager had advised me to at least hear the narration, after which, I was keen to work on Good Newwz as I liked the script. While I was travelling the next day, I received a call from Karan Johar saying that he wanted to cast me in this project. My anxieties knew no bounds. I was very happy to join the film."

There's an old saying in Bollywood that roles eventually go to actors meant to do them, and while this may not hold true in some instance, by and large, the industry swears by this adage, which has been proven time and again, with actors passing up roles that turn out to be game-changers for others or roles returning to actors who had earlier them pass by, only to realize what a mistake it would've have been to let such opportunities slip.
