Can we say 2019 has turned out to be the best year for Kriti Sanon so far? I guess, we can. Kriti Sanon began this year on a blockbuster note with Laxman Utekar's romantic-comedy Luka Chuppi, which did wonders at the box office. People didn't expect Kriti Sanon and Kartik Aaryan's film to do so well but it actually did. After Luka Chuppi, the actress has three big films lined up which include Farhad Samji's Housefull 4, Arjun Patiala with Diljit Dosanjh, Varun Sharma and Panipat with Arjun Kapoor. Kriti is ready to rule the box office if her films do exceptionally well at the ticket windows.

Meanwhile, there is another reason to rejoice for Kriti Sanon. The actress has bagged filmmaker Rahul Dholakia's untitled project which will draw inspiration from real-life stories for a fictional set-up in Mumbai. Rahul has earlier helmed Raees featuring Shah Rukh Khan and now he works with the 28-year-old actress.

Confirming this development, Kriti told Mumbai Mirror, "I had been waiting for the right female-driven film to come my way and this one ticked all the boxes. I play a media professional for which the research has already started. I can t wait to start shooting for this film. It s an entertainer with a powerful core idea and will connect with audiences without being preachy."

The yet-to-be-titled movie will go on floors from August and it will be shot from start to finish. A top VFX studio from South Korea will be looking after the heavy special effects of Sunir Kheterpal's production. Rahul Dholakia, who is also co-producing this project, expressed his excitement to work on this thriller saying, "This idea was pitched while it was being developed and we realised that there is an exciting thriller format that this story lends itself to. It s a cracker of a script and Kriti is the ideal choice for the protagonist."
