Today on June 1, Zee TV's popular and iconic TV show Pavitra Rishta completes 10 years. The show is one of the longest running TV show and aired in 2009 for the first time. After its 1424 episodes' long run the daily soap came to an end on October 24, 2014. As the show completed 10 years, the show maker Ekta Kapoor who helmed the series under her banner, Balaji Telefilms revisited the days when the show gave her production house the second lease of life. For those who might not be aware, after giving superhit daily soaps like Kyunki...Saas Bhi Kabhi Bahu Thi, Kahanii Ghar Ghar Kii, Kasautii Zindagii Kay, the TV doyenne hit a rock bottom.

Kasamh Se was the last hit TV series that Ekta gave in 2006 and after that a series of flop TV series like, Kahaani Hamaaray Mahaabhaarat Ki, Kaun Jeetega Bollywood Ka Ticket, Bandini, Kuchh Is Tara, were followed. Ekta revisited those days and said how no one was even ready to meet her since she was a too big name to say a no to. However, after a lull period, she was offered a TV show by Zee TV. The concept was an adaption of a hit South Indian show, Thirumathi Selvam. The show was Pavitra Rishta which gave the show maker a new lease of life. And since then there has been no looking back for the actress.

Ekta shared the same journey, on his Instagram through a post, which read, "2008 from being on the top 25 slots I was out of top 50 slots... with no work n channels refusing to meet me saying I was too senior to say no to along came terumati selvum a@south show that @zeetv gave us a chance to remake and our pavitra Rishta with television started again .... "

Well, we all know how popular Pavitra Rishta was it gave us some of the biggest names like Sushant Singh Rajput, Ankita Lokhande, Rithvik Dhanjani, Asha Negi and such.

Interestingly, Pavitra Rishta's anniversary coincides with her nephew Lakshya's birthday.
