It seems spin-offs are the latest trend of the TV industry. Every channel on the tube has got at least one spin-off being made from their popular daily soap. And following the trend is Zee TV's popular show Guddan: Tumse Na Ho Payega, but it will be unlike its contemporaries. BollywoodLife's reliable source reveals that the Guddan's spin-off won't be a daily soap, but a finite series for the digital platform, something that hasn't been experimented before. Keeping in mind the popularity of the show with the online audience, the idea of a digital spin-off germinated.

BollywoodLife has exclusively learnt that the series will be spread across 50 episodes and will stream on Zee TV's digital arm ZEE5. Now if you are wondering what would spin-off has to offer, then let us tell you, that it gets more exciting hereon. The series will be based on the daily soap's central character Guddan's (played by Kanika Mann) distant cousin Bittan, who is enamoured by her sister. Our sources add that the show will follow the journey of Bittan, a new character that will be introduced, who is an exact replica of Guddan and just like her, aspires to become an actress. "She dreams to be the heroine of Anurag Kashyap and Karan Johar's movies and as a result moves to the city of dreams, Mumbai." However, once Bittan visits Mumbai she realises that life isn't that easy.

Interestingly, Guddan and Bittan will have their moments as the former will impart her knowledge to the latter in a few episodes. "The two characters will crossover platforms and make special appearances."

BollywoodLife got in touch with Ved Raj, the head honcho of Shoonya Square productions, that currently helms, Guddan: Tumse Na Ho Payega and will also produce the digital series. Confirming the news with BL, Raj said "Yes we are currently working on it, since Guddan: Tumse Na Ho Payega enjoys huge popularity online, it's spin-off will be made as a digital show. I won't be able to divulge many details, but all I can say is that it is going to be a quirky rom-com with the flavour of Guddan."

The process of casting is underway and once the lead characters are finalised the show will go on floors. Guddan: Tumse Na Ho Payega, features Kanika Mann and Nishant Malkani in the lead.

Recently, Yeh Rishta Kya Kehlata Hain's spin-off, Yeh Rishtey Hai Pyaar Ke, went on-air featuring Shaheer Sheikh. In the past the channel has tried its hand at experimenting with the concept of spin-off (Kumkum Bhagya's spin-off Kundali Bhagya) and it has worked very well for it.
