Actor Vijay has joined hands with director Atlee for the third time, for his next which is being referred to as Thalapathy 63. Said to be a sports drama, the film will feature Vijay playing a football coach and Nayanthara will essay his love interest. The shooting is underway in various parts of Chennai and both, Vijay and Nayan, are a part of this schedule. And while that is under progress, an interesting update about the film has made its way to the internet. According to various reports, the title and first look of this yet untitled project will be unveiled on April 14 which is the Tamil New Year. Buzz is that the makers are considering this date to make announcements since it is considered as an auspicious day for Tamilians. Fans would hope that there would be an update about the film on this special day.

Before Thalapathy 63, Atlee and Vijay together have worked on hit films like Mersal and Theri. Nayanthara has paired up with Vijay in Sivakasi and Villu in the past and this will be her third collaboration with the actor. It is being speculated that the film may release during Diwali this year, like his previous two releases Mersal and Sarkar.

Bollywood actor Jackie Shroff has been signed on for this big-ticket Tamil project. Jackie will play a strong role in tentatively titled Thalapathy 63. Bankrolled by AGS Entertainment, the film will have Vijay playing a football coach and Jackie will be seen playing a strong role opposite the Tamil star. Announcement about Jackie was made by the makers recently and fans of Thalapathy Vijay cannot stop raving about this development.

Vijay was last seen in Sarkar which was directed by AR Murugadoss. The film was a political drama and had Vijay playing a corporate honcho who turns political vigilante because of unforeseen situations. The film went on to become a big hit and earned a collection of a little over Rs 175 crore at the end of theatrical run. Sarkar starred Keerthy Suresh as the leading lady and had music by AR Rahman.
