In the last week, we saw the promo of Vijay Deverakonda and Rashmika Mandanna's highly-anticipated film Dear Comrade. While the cinegoers loved the teaser, the lip-locking scene between the lead stars grabbed everyone's attention. Both the actors, who had featured together in Geetha Govindam were mercilessly trolled for kissing onscreen, in fact, Vijay was called as Emraan Hashmi of Tollywood by the social media users.

Now, Rashmika has finally reacted on the kissing scene and told to a leading daily that the scene demanded a kissing sequence and the movie should not be judged on that. "The particular scene in the film demanded it and I should do justice to my role. No movie should be judged solely on the basis of a lip-lock scene. It should be seen as a whole. People accepted Geetha Govindam and I am sure about this movie as well."

Talking about the film, Vijay is essaying the character of a student leader from a communist family, while Rashmika is seen as a cricketer playing for Telangana state. The film is produced under the banner of Mythri Movie Makers, who had delivered hits like Srimanthudu and Rangasthalam. Directed by Bharat Kamma, the film is scheduled to release on May 22.
