Mahesh Babu reviews the Telugu version of Vishal’s Irumbu Thirai and it’s on point!

Vishal’s Irumbu Thirai was one of the biggest hits of this year. In fact, it was the Tamil film that toppled Avengers: Infinity War from its top position in the Chennai box office tally after ruling for two weeks. The film manages to please the critics and audience alike. Although it started slow, good word-of-mouth helped the film pick up so well that it became a big hit. Samanth and Vishal’s chemistry was much appreciated. In fact, the actress had quite a good run this year with Rangasthalam and Mahanati doing great business at the box office. Now Mahesh Babu too has put his seal of approval for the film. He watched the Telugu version of Vishal’s film and just couldn’t stop praising it. Taking to Twitter, Mahesh Babu wrote, “Very impressed with Abhimanyudu. The vision & direction of @Psmithran is skilfully conveyed.. A well-researched and fast paced film… Hearty congratulations to @VishalKOfficial and the entire team!” Vishal returned the favour with a tweet as well. Check out their conversation right here…

Here’s an excerpt from our review on Irumbu Thirai – “As Major Kathir, Vishal was a natural. His angst, his sorrow, his helplessness were as real as can be. As a military officer, he cut a fine figure. This was one of those rare movies where we awaited action scenes because Vishal played it so deftly and with such swag. Over the top was not his style for sure and we love that! Samantha Ruth Prabhu as Rathi devi complemented him perfectly as the gentle yet resilient psychiatrist. After a long time, the hero faced a formidable antagonist played by Arjun. As Sathyamoorthy, he looked and played the part to the hilt. You can say, Vishal met his match in Arjun. Special mention for the background score scored by the genius Yuvan Shankar Raja. It added the right drama to the intense plot.”
