If you have been watching the recent season of Khichdi, you would have noticed that the mad cap family of Parekhs paid a tribute to late actress Sridevi in one of the episodes last weekend. Apparently, the said episode was shot in November 2017, months before the legendary actress had passed away in Dubai.

JD Majethia, producer of the show, and also the one who plays the character of Himanshu, revealed to TOI that they were reluctant to air that part, but then they thought that there is nothing derogatory about it and aired it as a tribute to the actress. “The episode had an interesting gag involving Sridevi. When she passed away in February, we were reluctant to air that part. However, we then felt that there was nothing derogatory about it and we were referring to her in a humour sequence, which actually will be our tribute to the legendary actress. She had once told us that she loved the first season of our show,” Majethia was quoted as saying. On the other hand, Supriya Pathak, who plays the lovable Hansa, revealed an interesting story from the time she met Sridevi in a flight. “Around three years ago, I met her on a flight and she literally made me talk like Hansa. It was embarrassing for a moment, but that just showed how much she loved the characters,” recalled Supriya.

Well, we all miss Sridevi very much. It’s still unbelievable that she is no more with us.
