John Abraham’s Parmanu to clash with Amitabh Bachchan and Rishi Kapoor’s 102 Not Out on May 4

John Abraham’s Parmanu To Clash With Amitabh Bachchan And Rishi Kapoor’s 102 Not Out On May 4

After many delays, John Abraham’s Parmanu has finally come out with a new release date. The makers of the Film have released a new poster of the film and mentioned that it will hit the screens on May 4. Director Abhishek Sharma confirmed the release date and said, “Much in line with India’s journey to becoming a nuclear power, our film’s journey to its release has also had its own ups and downs! However, it is perhaps a befitting tribute to the true heroes of our nuclear programme — our army and our scientists, that ‘Parmanu’ is releasing in the same month as we are celebrating 20 years of Operation Shakti – India’s nuclear test explosions in Pokhran in May 1998. We are extremely proud of the film and what it stands for and can’t wait to take it to our audience on May 4, 2018.”

Interestingly, Parmanu will clash with Amitabh Bachchan and Rishi Kapoor starrer 102 Not Out at the box office. While Parmanu is based on the nuclear bomb test explosions conducted by India at the Indian Army’s Pokhran Test Range in 1998, 102 Not Out is based on the Gujarati play by the same name. Talking about 102 Not Out, the film is directed by Oh My God! fame director, Umesh Shukla. The story of the film revolves around the 102-year-old man trying to break the oldest person record in the world, which, in the film, is held by a Chinese Man. While Amitabh Bachchan plays the character of a 102-year old man, Rishi Kapoor plays his son, who is 75-year old. (Also Read: EXCLUSIVE! On the other hand, Parmanu which is directed by Abhishek Sharma also features Diana Penty and Boman Irani in pivotal roles. The director has co-written this film with Saiwyn Quadros and Sanyuktha Chawla Shaikh. Since both the films are content-driven, a word of mouth publicity will play a crucial role for them. But do you think that this clash is unavoidable? Share your thoughts in the comment section below…
