Savarakathi Movie Review: The Mysskin Starrer Has Won Over Critics For Its Dark Comedy Theme

Savarakathi is a movie, fans have been looking out for, for several reasons. It marks the debut of GR Adithya who happens to be popular writer – Mysskin’s brother. The story has been written by Mysskin and he also stars in it. This time, the usually the dark theme writer had added a touch of humour to his story. The story is about a Thug and a Barber and the events that follow when they cross paths. it promises a hilarious, adventurous ride that will keep you wondering what’s next. While the Film has been considered patchy in certain parts, the movie has won over critics, over all. Some have gone to suggest that it has Mysskin written all over it even though it is his brother’s debut. Here’s what everyone has to sya about the Mysskin starrer:

Here’s what Hindustan Times has to say about the film – Savarakathi is a delightful dark comedy that raises pertinent questions about life and death. Thankfully, it never gets preachy, and therefore, works wholesomely, even when some edges are jagged. Mysskin as a writer shines again but it’s his acting avatar that’s sure to catch one’s attention this time.

Here’s what Sify has to say about the film – It is a film that keeps you on your toes, a film that never spoon-feeds you, instead expects you to read between the lines, to fill in the gaps for yourself and to decode the subtext. Overall, Savarakathi is a warm and welcoming film.

Indian Express is oddly won over by its charm – Savarakathi is an odd film that is tough to slot. It doesn’t floor you in amazement. But it keeps you hooked with its weird charm. As you leave the theater, there is a sense of fulfillment and longing at the same time.

Here’s what India Glitz has to say: What works most in ‘Savarakathi’ is the comedy that arises in many a dark moment in the film. On the downside all the characters are Mysskin’s and all have the same dialogue delivery and modulations. It would have been much more effective if some individuality had been written for especially Ram and Poorna. Verdict;  Go for this well crafted and unpredictable zany ride.
