Padmavati, Sanjay Leela Bhansali’s upcoming magnum opus has been embroiled in controversies right from day one.  The controversies started earlier this year when they were shooting for the film. The sets were vandalised, Sanjay Leela Bhansali himself was attacked. Despite all that the film saw completion but the controversies haven’t ended. Amidst all the negativity unfurling aorund the film,  Salman Khan, Jacqueline Fernandez, Sushant Singh Rajput, Arjun Kapoor  had come out in support of the film. And now yet another actor has spoken about the film and expressed support. He’s a veteran actor down south whose films have also had its fair of controversies. He has always stood for his movies, come what may. We are talking about Kamal Haasan. “I want Ms.Deepika’s head.. saved. Respect it more than her body.Even more her freedom. Do not deny her that.Many communities have apposed my films.Extremism in any debate is deplorable. Wake up cerebral India.Time to think. We’ve said enough. Listen Ma Bharat” stated the actor on social media. It’s no surprise because when it comes to Kamal Haasan, he has never shied away form speaking the truth or expressing support  when needed. The actor has always been gutsy and here is yet another example.

As per the latest update, Padmavati’s release has been postponed from 1st December. As of now the new release date hasn’t been confirmed. The postponement reportedly might impact subsequent releases but that will be known once we know of the new release date. This movie also stars Shahid Kapoor and Ranveer Singh.

In other news, Deepika Padukone was to attend IFFI but int he light of the threats, she has been asked to stay away, revealed a filmmaker at the festival as per reports on Mumbai Mirror.
