The Rajput Karni Sena’s war against Padmavati is not abating. Last evening, reports started doing the rounds that the makers had agreed to show the film to the community to appease them about the content. However, this news seems to have upset Cbfc Chief Prasoon Joshi. As reported by News18, Joshi, “What is the point of the existence of CBFC if you’re going to hold screenings like this?”. The news that is doing the rounds is that the film’s release might get postponed as the CBFC did not get the needed documents and requisite disclaimers from the makers of the film. It seems CBFC sources further told News18, ” For a screening, you need an exemption certificate from CBFC or the government. The makers can argue that this is a private screening but it looks like they have invited all channels and all the aggrieved parties.” Padmavati has invited anger of Rajput groups with what they call the false representation of Rajputana culture. The film talks about the courageous queen Padmavati, who committed Jauhar rather than surrender to the lust of the invader Allaudin Khilji. The CBFC is unsure if the makers have resubmitted the documents for certification. Directed by Sanjay Leela Bhansali, Padmavati stars Deepika Padukone in the main role. Rajput groups have threatened violence against the actress as well. Mahipal Singh Makrana, state president of Shri Rajput Karni Sena, told IANS on Thursday, “No Kshatriya would ever raise hand on a woman.
