This week it’s been primarily about Thalapathy Vijay’s Mersal – The Film garnered huge buzz prior to its release, however, post its release, the film has found itself in quite a few controversies. The film was targetted initially for mocking the concept of GST and thereafter the doctor protested against the film, as they felt it showed the medical industry in poor light. Amidst the Mersal controversy, the much awaited 2.0’s audio launch invite arrived, it was also announced Disha Patani will play the lead in Sangamithra. We will see Dulquer Salmaan and Vidya Balan come together for a talk show. Thalapathy Vijay’s Mersal in controversy: One of the biggest Tamil films, Mersal released on October 18th, 2017. While the film was lauded for Vijay’s stellar performance and Atlee’s class direction, the movie also found itself in multiple controversies. Initially, the film was targetted for mocking the concept of GST, soon after doctors began to share private links of the film as the movie showed the medical industry in poor light. Despite these controversies, Mersal continues to storm the box office.

Disha Patani replaces Shruti Haasan in Sangamithra: It’s now confirmed Disha Patani has replaced Shruti Haasan to play the lead warrior in Sangamithra. Sri Thenandal films, the production house bankrolling the project has made the official announcement – Exclusive: Introducing @DishPatani as #Sangamithra!. Disha Patani. The actress took to Twitter to share her joy of being part of this project – Really very excited for #Sangamitra. Can’t wait to start shooting for this wonderful film. The movie will reportedly start rolling in December 2017.

 2.0 audio launch invite: The makers of 2.0, the most awaited Tamil movie is set to hold the grandest audio launch in Dubai on October 27th. A sneak peek of the invite has been doing the rounds online. The black envelope with the LYCA stamp featured two hands playing a keyboard. What makes this picture interesting is that two different hands are playing – one hand seems to belong to a creature while the other seems to belong to a robot. It only makes us assume, the former is Akshay Kumar’s character while the latter is Rajinikanth’s. The film also stars Amy Jackson. The audio launch will be followed by a teaser in November. Dulquer and Vidya come together for a talk show: In an interesting turn of events, Dulquer Salmaan and Vidya Balan come together for stand up comedian Abish Mathew’s show – Son of Abish. Looks like they had a ball because Dulquer Salmaan shared a picture of the three and said this – Had the absolute pleasure of appearing on the #SonOfAbish show with the wonderful and infectious @balanvidya hosted by the super fun @abishmathew ! I think the most fun I’ve had doing an interview format show yet. Loved every minute of it. It airs tomorrow the 20th of October on www.youtube.com/abish !! First glimpse of Mahanati poster: On Keerthy Suresh’s birthday, the makers of Mahanati surprised fans when they revealed the first glimpse of her as Savithri. The resemblance was uncanny!  Fans are looking forward to the biopic that also stars Samantha Ruth Prabhu as Jamuna and Dulquer Salmaan as Gemini Ganesan.The intriguing film also stars Prakash Raj and Vijay Devarakonda in pivotal roles.
