After delivering a hit earlier this year with Hindi Medium, Irrfan Khan returns to big screen with a quirky romcom with an equally quirky title. Qarib Qarib Singlle is a love story of two disparate individuals who fall for each other as they travel to various parts in India. Malayalam actress Parvathy, known for her performances in Bangalore Days and Charlie, is making her Bollywood debut with Qarib Qarib Singlle. Interestingly her Bangalore Days and Charlie co-star, Dulquer Salmaan, is also making his Bollywood debut with a movie that has Irrfan Khan too.

Qarib Qarib Singlle is directed by Tanuja Chandra, who has previously made movies like Dushman and Sangharsh. It is a romcom when two individuals meet, become friends and then travel together, the reasons for which are not exactly made clear. Parvathy is playing a Malayali who has been single for a long time, while Irrfan’s character will remind you of what he played in Life…in A Metro, as well as in Hindi Medium. The trailer has some humorous moments which that will elicit a chuckle here and there.

Earlier speaking to the media Sujay Kutty of Zee Studios had said, “We are excited to partner with Irrfan Khan after Hindi Medium. Audiences at present are drawn to high concept films and ours is a content driven film backed by powerful performers. Qarib Qarib Single is a special film for us.” The director Tanuja Chandra has this to say about the movie, “Qarib Qarib Singlle is a contemporary love story of two people who embark upon an unusual journey which becomes a mad adventure. I’ve made plenty violent thrillers – now onto to something that’s slice of life and fun!

The movie is scheduled to release on November 10.
