We have seen them kill us with their Ishqbaazi but Nakuul Mehta and Surbhi Chandna of Ishqbaaz fame were at their competitive best on Lip Sing Battle. The show started off with a fab introduction of Shivaay (Nakuul Mehta) and Anika (Surbhi Chandna) and their Ishqbaazi. Ali Asgar aka Tara made an entry to the tunes of O Jaana dressed in a black saree. She does the aarti like traditional bahu. She says the drama will be double as guests are from TV. Farah Khan gave a rousing welcome to the couple to the tunes of Aa Dekhe Zara. Nakuul dressed in a studded jacket looks super happy to be here. Their banter starts off and he says today I will talk. Farah tells them to shut up and welcomes them. Ali lands up in Shivaay’s arms. Surbhi Chandna taunts him that he cannot lift her and he picks her up for a good few seconds. Nakuul who is a trained dancer began with a performance on the song Main Sharabi. Farah said she was stunned with his act as he is a non-drinker and a vegetarian to boot. Nakuul teased that he learnt how to act drunk after seeing Surbhi behave at night-outs. Clearly, the spared nothing. Nakuul landed up on the audience and people loved it. Surbhi, later gave a performance on Hawa Hawaii from Mr India. Jankee Parekh, Nakuul’s wife was there in the audience and she cheered loudly for him with best buddy, Alekh Sangal. When Ali said he did like to share Nakuul with Jankee, she said she was cool with it. Then, Nakuul said that he did a nine to nine shift with Surbhi and so there was no question of sharing. Both the actors rehearsed a lot. Surbhi danced on a medley of Kareena Kapoor Khan’s songs donning the iconic red slit pants and bustier from Kabhie Khushi Kabhi Gham’s Soniya song. When she took off the jacket, there was an eyelock moment that was so ShiVika. We also saw Nakuul break phones a la SSO. Nakuul danced on I Hate You Like I Love You dressed weirdly in loose pants, a multi-colored fringed jacket, Golliwog hair and fake chest hair. He won the competition because of his energy and humour.

It was a treat to see ShiVika because of their spontaneity, humour, banter and talent. Nakuul is a great dancer and we wanna see more of his moves on Ishqbaaz now. Stay tuned to Bollywood Life for more scoop and updates…
