In a shocking turn of events, Telugu Actor-director Chalapathi Rao and actor Srujan Lokesh have been accused of attempt to rate by a Tollywood actress. As per reports, the actress was to reach Bheemavaram on August 13 by rail but on the actor and the director’s insistence the actress took the road route. As they neared Vijaywada, the actor and the director started to misbehave with the actress. They then speeded up the car so that she wouldn’t be able to escape. It was only when the car collided with the lorry that she managed to escape. Reportedly, the director and actor blackmailed and threatened her not to file a complaint. They also told her, her career would be ruined if she complained. The director has been booked under custody, but the actor is on the run. This is not first controversy, the director-actor, Chalapathi Rao has courted. For those who don’t know, he was the same actor who made a controversial remark at the audio launch of Naga Chaiatnay’s Rarandoi Veduka Chuddam. When asked by the host if women were harmful to mental peace, the actor -director said,”Ammayilu hanikaram kadu kani.. Pakkalo ki paniki vastharu. (I don’t know if girls are injurious to health or not. But, they are good for bed)(sex).” . His demeaning comment did not go down well. It was slammed outright by the cast of Rarandoi Veduka Chuddam and other celebs in the industry. Nagarjuna even blasted the comment on social media “I always respect women personally and in my films/I definitely do not agree wt Chalapati Rao’s derogatory comments/dinosaurs do not exist!! The actor Chalapathi Rao apologised after the incident. Here is the video of the incident 

This is not the first attempt to murder case in the south industry. In February, a lead South actress was assaulted and abducted in her own car. She filed a complaint thereafter. After the prime accused were arrested, lead actor Dileep was arrested on July 10 for his alleged involvement in the case.
