Lipstick Under My Burkha is going good at the box office. The Movie that stars Konkona Sen Sharma, Ratna Pathak Shah in lead roles has actually garnered a good word of mouth over its run and more and more audience is rushing to the theaters. The movie raked in Rs 1.22 Crore on its opening day, and in its opening week the collection rose up to Rs 10.96 crore. Now, the movie has entered it second weekend test, and has done decent business over the second Friday.

Lipstick Under My Burkha, directed by Alankrita Srivastav, was able to collect Rs 94 lacs on Friday. Thus bringing the total to Rs 11.9 crore. The total budget of the movie is around Rs 6.50 crore. And it is safe to say that the Film is a hit. Check out the collection:

Talking about the struggle the makers of the film, which amassed Rs 1.22 crore on its opening day, had to face, Ekta Kapoor  has said, “There were two struggles happening simultaneously. One was the censor board and the other was the film’s release. People in the industry said that this film won’t earn beyond Rs 20 lakh on the first day of its release. And that the film will not last long in theatres. I was feeling bad because if this movie didn’t get good numbers then more films like these won’t be made. People would never even think of these kind of films,” Well, she sure is happy to learn about the good collection now, and should sure invest in more such movies. The earned Rs 1.25 crore on Thursday to take its total to Rs 10 crore and more. The cost of production for Lipstick Under My Burkha was mere Rs 4.50 crore. If you add the distribution cost (Rs 1.60 crore) and the marketing cost (Rs 0.40 crore), the total budget of the movie comes around Rs 6.50 crore. With the film already raking in Rs 10. 96 crore, you can very well imagine that the people who have invested in the film are laughing all the way to the bank. Looking at the current trends, Lipstick Under My Burkha, which was supposed to make somewhere near Rs 10-15 crore at the box office in its lifetime run, might just go beyond that as well.
