Reema Lagoo’s sudden demise today morning has left everyone in shock. She was currently working on a TV show, Naamkaran, where her portrayal of the negative character was hugely appreciated. She wasn’t playing a doting mother but a conniving one. That’s unlike everything we have seen her do on the big screen. But now it’s all over. Cardiac arrest took away her life at the age of 59. We have pictures of Aamir and Kiran walking in hand-in-hand. They looked pretty shocked by the news. While speaking to media, the Dangal actor even said, “We are still in shock. Aisi koi takleef bhi nahi thi jiske baare mei hum jante the. Suddenly ekdum se aisa ho gaya, bahut hi dukh ki baat hai. Meri to pehli film Reema ji ke saath thi Qayamat Se Qayamat Tak. Bahut hi kamaal ki actor hai. Aur unka jo dil hai woh bahut saaf hai, socially itni conscious hai. Hum jo paani ka Kaam Kar rahe the, usmei aage badke kaam kar rahi thi. Youngsters se bhi aage badhkar. Yehi duwa hai humari ke unki aatma ko shanti mile.” (She wasn’t really suffering from anything that I know of. Suddenly this happened, it’s really saddening. My first film was with Reema ji, Qayamat Se Qayamat Tak. She was a fab actress. And she has a clean heart. She is also very socially conscious. She was even part of our water conservation movement and was very enthusiastic about it. I just wish she rests in peace.)

Others from Bollywood also condoled her death. Priyanka Chopra wrote on Twitter, “RIP #ReemaLagoo such a loss to art and cinema. You are and will always be our favourite screen mom. My condolences to the family.” Amitabh Bachchan still can’t believe it. He wrote, “T 2428 – Just heard the shocking and unbelievable news about Reema Lagoo’s passing .. such a fine talent and gone so young ! Very SAD !!” Others, who also condoled her death, were Rishi Kapoor, Karan Johar, Sidharth Malhotra and more.
