Remember Mansi Joshi who was popular TV actress of 90s with shows like Saaya, Kkusum and Gharwali Uparwali? After a gap of almost 12 years Mansi is making a comeback on TV with Star Plus’ new show ‘Dhai Kilo Prem’. Mansi got married to actor Rohit Roy and was away from TV for long time as she was busy with her family life. She was last seen in Nach Baliye season 1 with husband Rohit Roy in 2005. Mansi now returns as mother of lead actress Anjali Anand who plays Deepika in the show. For all those who don’t know, Mansi hails from family of actors. Her brother Sharman Joshi is a famous Bollywood actor while Senior actress Sarita Joshi is her aunt. Actress Ketaki Dave and Purbi Joshi also happen to be her cousins. Even after marriage she has actors in her family from her husband Rohit Roy to brother – in – law Ronit Roy.

Mansi had been contemplating making a comeback for a long time but she was busy with daughter Kaira. But now since her daughter is grown up she is ready to take the plunge. And once agin it’s an Ekta Kapoor show that she is making a comeback with.

Mansi is daughter of famous theater actor Arvind Joshi and started off as a model in mumbai after her college. She made her debut with Saaya with R Madhvan as her hero. After the show she did a comedy show Gharwali Uparwali with Mukul Dev. She shot to fame with Kkusum which was an Ekta Kapoor show. Afar the show she got married to Ronit Roy and took a break from acting. She did a cameo in her husband’s film Alibaugh (2011) though. So it’s really after a gap she will be seen on screen .

After 12 years Mansi, at this stage of career, is not shying away from playing a mother to a grown up. She plays a housewife who happens to be overweight Anjali’s mother who is horizontally challenged. Dhai Kilo Prem has been shot in real locations of Agra and Delhi. It marks the debut of Anjali Anand and Meherzan Mazda as Deepika and Piyush who are two healthy couple and this is their love story.

The show will premier from April 3 on Star Plus in the afternoon along with three other shows. It also stars veteran actor Manoj Joshi in a significant role. The other shows launched with Dhaai Kilo Prem are Tu Sooraj Mein Saanj Piya Ji, Kya Kasoor Hai Amla Hai and Ek Asthaa Aisi Bhi.
