Yeh Rishta Kya Kehlata Hai starts with Naitik (Vishal Singh) getting nervous for Naira’s (Shivangi Joshi) wedding. Naksh (Rishi Dev) informs him that the Baarat is ready to leave and on hearing this Naitik becomes emotional. Manish asks Keerthi if anything is wrong between him and Aditya, she lies to him. Manish asks Keerthi to keep Aditya happy as it is a part of their reputation. While he leaves, Keerthi’s eyes tear up as she knows the truth of their marriage.

Kartik’s (Mohsin Khan) baarat is ready to leave. Kartik gets excited when he comes to know that everyone has a surprise planned for his baarat. Manish calls for the baarat. A parade along with two horses, two camels and one elephant. Kartik freaks out looking at the animals. Everyone convinces Kartik to sit on the elephant for the baarat and he agrees. Naksh comes in the room and informs all the ladies that the baarat is about to leave. Naira is happy on hearing this. Dadi asks Kartik to cover his face with ‘sehera’ as no one should see his face before marriage. Kartik assures Dadi that he will do so. Accidentally, a soft drink spills over on Kartik’s sherwani and he leaves to clean it. When Keerthi informs Dadi about the situation she panics and worries about the mahurat.

Another groom passes by the venue and in the chaos everyone thinks it’s Kartik and makes him sit on the elephant and the baarat leaves. But Kartik is still in the washroom waiting for the baarat. The other groom, too, thinks it is his baarat and tries to find his parents and finds out it’s not his baarat. When Kartik is about to leave, he slips in the washroom and falls in the bathtub. Kartik comes out and wonders where the baarat is and finds out that the baarat has left with the wrong groom.  At the palace everyone asks Naitik to calm down as he is too worried about the arrangements of the wedding. Naira gets upset as she can’t see the baarat (as per the rituals). Mishti informs Gayu Kanchi Singh and Naira that Kartik is coming on an elephant. Naira is shocked on hearing this and laughs. Akhilesh notices the fake groom consuming alcohol and makes him understand not to consume a lot of alcohol. The fake groom wonders who Akhilesh is. Kartik gets tensed thinking about his baarat. The guard suggests Kartik to take the camel and to follow the baarat. Kartik is scared looking at the camel and wonders what to do…
