IRA'S THE 100 BEST FILMS OF ALL TIME -- 2022 EDITION COMMENTARY TRACK
After months of balloting, horse-trading and movie watching, the IRAs gathered on Friday, March 18 to vote on the 100 best films of all time. The list of 100 films was determined after months of preparation. On the final night, the movies on the list had been determined as well as their general placement. Voting began on the movies at the bottom of the list, 91-100, to decide where they would rank within their group. Once those were determined voting moved up to cover 81-90 and so on until the final batch of voting decided which movies in the Top 10 would be listed in what order, from #10 all the way up to #1. With an even number of voters present on this night, ties were broken by the titular IRA, who made his determinations with aplomb, alacrity and an unrivaled certainty about which of various Sophie-like decisions should be made. He never wavered. He never hesitated. He never blinked in the face of awesome responsibility. And so we have The List.
It is an update to the list voted on in 2012: The Top 100 Films of All Time -- 2012 Edition.
Here are some facts. Twenty two films are new to the list, which means of course 22 films dropped off the list from 2012.
