Ridley Scott Confirms Sequel To Gladiator

The Gladiator film is undoubtedly a classic and after over 18 years we are finally getting a Sequel all thanks to Ridley Scott.
A sequel to the Gladiator film obviously can't have our main characters Maximus (Russell Crowe) and Commodus (Joaquin Phoenix) given that they both died at the end of the film. However, according to Deadline, the sequel will center around Lucius, the son of Lucilla (Connie Nielson) and the nephew of Commodus.

Ridley Scott has tried his hand at a Gladiator sequel before called "Christ Killer" which saw Maximus being brought back to life by the gods. In the script by Nick Cave Maximus is in purgatory as he's "sent down by the gods, who are dying in heaven because there’s this one god, there’s this Christ character, down on Earth who is gaining popularity and so the many gods are dying so they send Gladiator back to kill Christ and his followers."
But Maximus is tricked by the gods as the "Christ character" that they've sent him to kill was his own son. Maximus then goes on to live forever, fighting in wars throughout history such as World War II and Vietnam, before ending up as a General in the modern-day Pentagon. But when Russell Crowe read the script he said said, "don't like it, mate."

This time we are unsure of Russell Crowe will even be in the film.

Would you watch a Gladiator sequel? Let me know on Facebook or in the comments section below. Anyway, my name is Trinikid and you've just been informed.
