Introducing Ellen's Esplanade - A New Easy Street Sew & Sell Pattern

Yay! It's time to introduce my latest Easy Street pattern - Ellen's Esplanade!

Features:

The Ellen’s Esplanade is the perfect day project or a great design to Sew & Sell or whip up and give as a gift! Featuring two handy exterior side slip pockets for phone and keys with the main compartment closing with a recessed zipper. Inside you will find a spacious interior which includes a zipper pocket. If you need more pockets, why not add Pocket Supplement A available in my shop.

Make your bag from all fabrics or a combination of fabric and vinyl or pleather or cork. Your bag can be either slouchy or structured! You choose!

Finished size: Approx. 38cm W (at the top recessed zipper) X 29cm H X 14cm D
(15” W (at the top recessed zipper) X 11 ½” H X 5 ½” D)

Not enough Pockets? I know I LOVE pockets so if you do too, why not add Pocket Supplement A to your bag. It's a really COOL set of extra pockets suitable not only for this bag and The Lunar Collection which I originally designed it for, for last years Bag of the Month Club, but you will find it perfect for a whole swag of bags. Use it over and over again! If you haven't got a copy yet, you can grab one in my shop for just $2! Which I think is a BARGAIN considering how many times you will find yourself making these pockets!

YES! I am happy to say this pattern is one of my easiest "Easy Street" patterns! To be honest with you I am feeling pretty chuffed about this pattern and can see it being one of the most popular Easy Street simply because its so quick to make yet you still end up with a very classy bag!! So just what is an "Easy Street" pattern? Just to recap:

Our Easy Street Patterns are relatively quick and easy to make, yet still retain some pretty COOL features ChrisW Designs is renowned for, making them more than just a run of the mill design. However they are not aimed at beginner bag makers as they do assume some prior sewing skills and previous bag making experience. Primarily these patterns are aimed at the Sew & Sell maker looking to add some unique & stylish designs to their inventory being less time consuming to make than our 'regular' range of designs. They also make great gifts or a satisfying quick sew just for FUN!

Note: Easy Street Patterns have smaller PDF's and as such provide cutting measurements only for rectangular pieces and do not have a text only version at the end.

Lets have a look at the testers versions:

First up we have Marilyn of Shades of Bold:

See Marilyn's Shades of Bold blog HERE.

Norma of  Norma's Bag Boutique:

Norma added an extra slip pocket and pen pocket of her own design. You can see more of Norma's work in her Etsy shop HERE!

Robin of Robin's Fabric Nest:

Robin decided to add extra straps  -  how COOL is this:

Maria of Mia Creates:

Faultless as always! Visit Mia Creates.

Next up is Jenny of Sincerely Jen:

Stunning! Take a look at more of Jenny's fabulous work on Instagram and on Facebook.

Next up is Sue. Sue made her Ellen's Esplanade from cork! This bag BLOWS me away every time I see it! I really DO need to try out the cork I have hiding in the cupboard!:

You can see more of Sue's work on her blog Dreamscape Studio HERE! Visit Sue's Facebook page HERE!

Here is Pat's version:

and Dee's:

Karen's:

Karen used Pocket Supplement A in her version for additional pockets!

Visit Karen's Blog HERE!

Krista:

Krista made her bag from canvas which she waxed after construction! She used a bar (looks like a soap bar) of wax that's especially made for this purpose. She rubbed the bar on the fabric and then used her fingers to work it in. She applied it before joining the exterior to the lining. It's supposed to take 24 hours or so to "cure"..... Krista also used Pocket Supplement A for additional pockets in her bag.

Ellen:

Ellen used Pocket Supplement A in her version too and I love the COOL way Ellen made her strap! See more of Ellen's work on her Facebook page HERE!

Sas:

You can visit Sas on Facebook HERE!

Cyndi:

You can visit Cyndi's blog, The Nosy pepper HERE, her Facebook page HERE and you can also follow Cyndi on Instagram HERE!

Last BUT definitely NOT least is Judith of Judith Stitches.

Judith also used Pocket Supplement A for additional pockets and she used a a light weight waterproof canvas for her lining.

A GREAT BIG HUGE thank you goes to my wonderful Proof readers and pattern testers. Without you all I could not do this so KUDOS to you all for being the BEST testers in the industry! I am seriously one very lucky designer! :)

So there you have it and I hope you like it as much as I do! Ellen's Esplanade is available in my shop NOW! Pocket Supplement A is available here if you would like more pockets in your bag!

Happy Sewing!
