Company results: 

Asda have reported a 2.6% increase in revenue to £22.2bn for the 12 months ending 31 December 2017. Operating profit decreased by 13.0% to £735.4m, whilst like-for-like sales increased by 0.5% for the same period.

B&M have reported an increase in revenue by 22.4% to £3.0bn for the 53 weeks ending 31 March 2018. Group profit before tax increased by 25.4% to £229.3m, while B&M UK like-for-like revenue increased by 4.7% for the same period.
Caffyns, the new and used car dealer, have reported a 0.5% increase in revenue from continuing operations to £213.7m for the year to 31 March 2018. Like-for-like new car unit sales decreased by 9.2% while like-for-like used car unit sales remained unchanged for the same period.
Card Factory have reported an increase in revenue by 3.0% for the 3 months ending 30 April 2018. Like-for-like sales decreased by 0.4% for the same period.
Dixons Carphone have reported an increase in group revenue by 3.0% for the 12 months ending 28 April 2018. UK and Ireland like-for-like sales increased by 2.0%, while the group like-for-like sales increased by 4.0% for the same period.
Hendy Group have reported a 42.0% increase in revenue to £532.8m for the 12 months ending 31 December 2017. Profit before tax increased by 163.7% to £7.6m for the same period. (Source: AM Online)

John Lewis have announced plans to refurbish their 40 year old department store at Brent Cross, as a part of the North London shopping centre’s £1.4bn redevelopment plan. MSGM, the Italian fashion brand, have chosen London’s Brompton Cross as the locations for their first UK store. Shoe Zone have plans to acquire 10 Maplin stores across the UK as they continue their expansion drive. The stores are typically 4,000 sq.ft. to 5,000 sq.ft. of sales floor space. (Source: Retail Gazette)

The Perfume Shop have announced plans to open a new store at the Crowngate Shopping Centre in Worcester on 01 June 2018. Yoox Net-A-Porter have appointed Emma Mortimer as their new Managing Director with immediate effect for the designer fashion outlet, The Outnet. BHS.com have announced plans to close trading on 27 June 2018, following a review by their Qatar based owner AL Mana Group as the group is focussing on store based business which includes franchises outside the UK under the name of BHS International. (Source: Drapers)

Hendy Group have plans to expand their used car business with the acquisition of the Unbeatablecar Portsmouth outlet.
