Asda have reported a 3.4% decrease in total sales for the 13 weeks ending 31 March 2018. Like-for-like sales increased by 3.7% for the same period. Online grocery sales increased by 8.3% for the same period. (Source: GlobalData)
 
Arcadia Group have reported a 5.6% decrease in total sales to £1.9bn for the 12 months ending 26 August 2017. Operating profits before goodwill, amortisation and exceptional items decreased by 42.0% to £124.1m for the same period. (Source: Retail Gazette)
Burberry have reported a 1.2% decrease in total revenue to £2.733bn for the 12 months ending 31 March 2018. Wholesale revenue increased by 2.3% to £2.660bn for the same period.

Gear4music have reported a 43.0% increase in group revenue to £80.1m for the 52 weeks ending 28 February 2018. Pre-tax profit decreased by 43.0% to £1.5m for the same period.
Lookers have reported a 4.0% decrease in new car turnover for the three months ending 31 March 2018. Gross profit from new cars decreased by 8.0% for the same period. Used car turnover increased by 8.0% and gross profit from used vehicles increased by 6.0% for the same period (Source: Motor Trader)
Moss Bros have reported a 2.4% decrease in total sales for the 15 weeks ending 12 May 2018. Total like-for-like sales decreased by 5.2% for the same period. Like-for-like retail sales including e-commerce decreased by 5.2% for the same period.

Mothercare have reported a 4.8% decrease in total sales to £437.6m for the 52 weeks ending 24 March 2018. UK like-for-like sales decreased by 1.3% for the same period.

Monsoon Accessorize have reported a 0.4% increase in total sales to £423.7m for the 12 months ending 27 August 2017. Losses after tax decreased by 32% to £12.6m, with operating losses also down by 41.5% to £10.4m for the same period. (Source: Retail Week)

Asos have extended their ‘Asos Instant’ same day delivery service to Birmingham. The move follows the launch of the service in London, Leeds and Manchester over the past six months. (Source: Retail Bulletin)

Burberry have entered into an agreement to acquire luxury leather goods business CF&P. CF&P has been a longstanding Burberry supplier, and the transaction will give greater control to Burberry over quality, cost, delivery and sustainability of their leather goods. (Source: Company Press Release)

Debenhams have launched three new suiting brands as part of a new in-store tailoring concept called Age of Now. The new offering is being introduced in the retailer’s Oxford Street and Westfield White City stores in London, and online from September. (Source: Retail Bulletin)

Mothercare have announced the comprehensive debt and equity refinancing of the company that will see funding of up to £113.5m injected into the business via a mix of equity capital raising, shareholder loans and committed bank debt. Mothercare have also brought back Chief Executive Officer Mark Newton-Jones as part of the major rescue plan. Toys R Us have announced plans to sell all of their intellectual property to pay off creditors. The toy retailer is due to sell their own name, the Babies R Us brand, their famous Geoffrey the Giraffe logo and a swathe of domain names. (Source: Retail Gazette)

WH Smith have opened six stores across Rome Fiumicino and Rome Ciampino airports. The stores offer a selection of Italian and international newspapers, magazines, books, confectionery, drinks, stationery, toys, electronic accessories and WH Smith’s own brand travel essentials range. Food & Drink

Co-op have announced plans to start donating surplus food which is about to reach their sell by date, instead of putting it on “last minute” sale. The surplus food will be handed to food redistribution charities who will freeze it or turn it into roughly eight million meals a year. (Source: Company Press Release)

Co-op have also announced plans to become the first UK retailer to launch a deposit and return scheme (DRS) trial with reverse vending machines, as a part of their commitment to increase recycling and reduce marine pollution (Source: Company Press Release)

Morrisons have donated £45,000 to the Community Fridge Network, allowing the charity to nearly double in size. Waitrose have announced plans to expand their vegan and vegetarian assortment by 60% as they introduce 50 new products to their shelves.
