Bunnings have Reported a 13.8% decrease sales to £276.0m for UK and Ireland businesses for the three months to 30 September 2017. Like-for-like sales decreased by 11.9% for the same period. (Source: Verdict)

Carpetright have reported a 0.6% decrease in UK sales for the 25 weeks to 21 October 2017. UK like-for-like sales increased by 0.8% for the same period. (Source: Verdict)

Debenhams have reported a 2.0% increase in group gross transaction value to £3.0bn for the 52 weeks to 2 September 2017. Group like-for-like sales increased by 0.2% on a constant currency basis for the same period.

Dr. Martens have reported a 12.0% increase in group revenue to £290.6m at constant currency for the year to 31 March 2017. Retail revenue increased by 38.0% to £78.9m for the same period.

Gear4music have reported a 44.0% increase in revenue to £31.2m for the six months to 31 August 2017. UK revenue increased by £30.0% to £17.9m for the same period.

Hobbs have reported a 9.0% increase in sales to £119.5m for the year to 28 January 2017. Gross profit increased by 8.7% to £76.2m for the same period. (Source: Retail Week)

Inchcape have reported an 11.3% increase in group revenue to £2.3bn at constant currency for the three months to 30 September 2017. Retail revenue increased by 3.6% for the same period.

Pendragon PLC have reported a 3.7% increase in like-for-like revenue for the three months to 30 September 2017. Underlying like-for-like profit before tax stood at a break even position for the same period.

Peoples Group have reported a 6.1% increase in turnover to £276.6m for the year to 31 July 2017. Pre-tax profits decreased by 10.4% to £6.3m for the same period. (Source: Motor Trader)

Selfridges have reported a 16.0% increase in sales to £1.6bn for the year to 28 January 2017. Operating profit increased by 18.0% to £180.0m for the same period. (Source: Retail Week)

Lifestyle LFLs were down by –1.68% this week, but from a positive base of +1.68% for the same week last year. Ending a two week run of positive results, 56% of lifestyle respondents reported negative LFLs this week.

Fashion LFLs were down by a significant -9.39% this week from an already negative base of -1.21% for the same week last year. This was the worst in-Store result for fashion in the year-to-date. 84% of respondents reported negative LFLs this week, of which 58% were double-digit declines.

Homeware was the star performer this week with LFLs up by +3.93% from an already strong base of +10.83% for the same week last year. The result followed two negative weeks for homeware and constituted its fourth positive result in the last six weeks.

Non-store LFLs were also held back this week, predominantly by lacklustre non-store fashion sales. LFLs were up by +8.19%, well below the +20% threshold and off of an already uninspiring base of +14.08% seen last year. As inflation continues to bite there is a sense that consumers are forgoing purchases across all channels, something which a change in the weather and the onset of Christmas purchasing are likely to remedy.

Clothing, Footwear & Accessories

Benjamin Moore, an American designer paint brand, have opened their first store at Fulham Road, London. The 1,300 sq.ft store stocks the brand’s range of premium quality paint from a colour palette of more than 3,500 shades. (Source: Retail Bulletin)
