Why is Rey a controversial figure in Star Wars?

 Because some believe she seems too perfect.

Personally, I like her. For several reasons. 

Back in Time...2010: Hasbro, The Clone Wars, and Me

If you recall, back in 2010 I suggested Hasbro make more Star Wars Jediette Dolls, etc, because girls love them. I was grateful because Hasbro had sent us a free promo package which included Ahsoka and Rotta in it that my youngest daughter immediately claimed. 

The Force Awakens and The Last Jedi gave us a female force user: Rey

Then came The Force Awakens with Rey and I was elated. And even though I want to see a lot more character development with Rey...I genuinely like her. I would like to see her flaws and how she overcomes them.

Anyhow, I hope that Star Wars IX gives us a stronger storyline. That's my opinion. Nobody has to agree with me. 

I love how Dave Filoni and crew developed Hera, Sabine, and Ahsoka. I hope Star Wars IX does the same with Rey, because she's awesome. (Do you hear me JJ?)
