Realty Executives Adds Property Wars Crew

Yesterday, while I was at a real estate conference in Phoenix, I saw a headline that read “‘Property Wars’ star merges real estate firm with Realty Executives Phoenix.” I immediately shared it with some of my friends who are in the industry. Each of them seemed to be intrigued with the merger, and each of them seemed to believe that this is “kind of a big deal.” One friend sent a message that said:

I like Doug.  Jeff and Joel are certainly on a mission.  Overall, well done.  #growth

That message made me think of other conversations I’ve had with our current ownership. It made me think of what they are really trying to accomplish since taking over this brand nearly 2 1/2 years ago.

The main thing I hear when talking to our corporate team at Realty Executives is quality over quantity. However, we all know that quality can attract quantity. In fact, Joel Moyes has mentioned to me that his goal is more about significance than size.

I, like many others in the Phoenix real estate business, had some questions about this new merger with Red Brick Realty, so I sent Joel a text asking him if he would talk to me. He called back within minutes and answered every question without reservation. He was obviously very happy to be able to talk about a deal that has actually been in the works in one way or another for years. Joel and his business partner Jeff Hawke have apparently known Doug Hopkins for quite some time, and they have figured out a way to mutually benefit the agents at Red Brick by coming under the Realty Executives brand. All existing Red Brick agents will now be Executives. They will have new signage, new business cards and new tools to help them run their business.

One of the benefits this will have for the Realty Executives brand is a much larger presence in the northeast Mesa area, an area where they would like more exposure. There are some beautiful homes in Las Sendas, along the citrus corridor and throughout the NE Mesa area, and we immediately have a much larger presence in that part of town because of this merger. There will soon be a new state of the art office for us in that market area, as well. That’s an awesome part of town with some diverse housing options, and it sounds like Joel and his team are excited to grow the Realty Executives brand up there.

This new Mesa office will be similar to the new and newly renovated offices in Gilbert, Ocotillo, Pinnacle Peak and Tempe.

Some facts of the Red Brick Realty merger with Realty Executives:

Red Brick has approximately 100 agents and will take on the Realty Executives name.

This year Red Brick agents will close over $175 million in sales volume, and Realty Executives is on track to sell nearly $3 BILLION.

Doug Hopkins is well known for appearing on “Property Wars”, which is a show about buying foreclosed homes. Hopkins has sold 15,000 homes during his career.

Realty Executives will be opening a new state of the art office in Northeast Mesa next year that will be anchored by Hopkins and his agents.

We saw a lot of quotes by Hopkins, Hawke and Moyes that mentioned synergy, knowledge, integrity, expansion, success, talent, market leader, dynamic, agent centric and their overall vision for the company. As an independent contractor, I typically just worry about running my own business. As an agent here at Realty Executives, it really is nice to be surrounded by people with similar visions.

While I know that Red Brick agents had a company-wide meeting yesterday morning to introduce them to the new systems, plans, offices and tools available to them, the existing agents at Realty Executives had the following information given to them.

“Yesterday morning we finalized a deal with Red Brick Realty that will add nearly 100 new Executives to the Realty Executives family. Red Brick has tenured agents who fit in perfectly with our culture and give us a strong market presence in an area of town where growth is a priority (Northeast Mesa). Doug Hopkins built Red Brick in 2004 and has created a fantastic business, which marries nicely with our existing culture. On behalf of the owners, Jeff Hawke and Joel Moyes, please join me in welcoming these new agents to our family. Internally, it’s business as usual at Realty Executives while externally this growth opportunity helps solidify our brand equity and helps us grow our individual Executive’s business. We’re thrilled to have Doug Hopkins and his entire top producing group join Realty Executives and hope you are too!”

So, I hope Joel doesn’t kill me for this pic, but it was the first one I found of the two of us…

Congrats, my friend.
