Day 319: How to learn to ride a bike (again)

Tags: character bike

What I was doing was…

Going back to work on the younger character’s story in the novel today. Stared into space for a while then came up with a more detailed idea of what the chapter could be about and even wrote the first 100 words of it. This Character is a kid and I was searching for a specific experiential touch point to inspire what the scene needs to do -some possibilities seemed to spark when I thought about the experience of being taught how to ride a bike, the challenge of trying and then the elation of succeeding. I have been anticipating a block writing again for this character after being focused the past couple of months on the older character, but now I am excited and looking forward to a different tone for a while. Will hopefully dive in tomorrow!
