The elephant in the room regarding the employment space is “to what extent will AI affect the job market”.

First of all, there will be an offset as AI is actually giving rise to the creation of new businesses which are employing people. Secondly, technological innovation has been disrupting industry for hundreds of years from the industrial revolution in the 1700s all the way through to information and telecommunications, to what we are experiencing now.

Adaptations have always been made in terms of dealing with transitioning and upskilling.

That being said, there is no denying that the rate of change is increasing, and commonly described as exponential.

Current studies show that job replacement by AI will hit some job types more than others and that the impact in some areas will be severe. There are those who believe that the retraction over the next 10 or 20 years will be severe and that we will be living in a world where universal basic income will be a staple of society.

Even if that is the case, we believe in the beauty and aspirational nature of the human spirit. There will always be a significant percentage of the population that will continue to create, innovate, and contribute because it is an indelible part of our DNA.
