Public Enemy, formed in 1985 in Long Island, New York, is one of the most influential and politically charged groups in the history of hip-hop. The original members include Chuck D, Flavor Flav, Professor Griff, and DJ Terminator X. Known for their revolutionary lyrics and innovative production, they released their debut album Yo! Bum Rush the Show in 1987. Public Enemy’s next album, It Takes a Nation of Millions to Hold Us Back, solidified their reputation and achieved critical and commercial success, peaking at number forty-two on the Billboard 200.

Throughout their career, Public Enemy released fifteen studio albums, including Fear of a Black Planet and Apocalypse 91… The Enemy Strikes Black, both of which are considered classics.
