A dog from the Calgary area has achieved a significant victory at the Westminster Kennel Club Dog Show. The boxer, named Doc, placed third among more than 400 entries in his group.

Doc and Sheila McAvoy

Doc, whose registered name is GCHB CH Tybrushe’s Livin Notoriety, was entered by Sheila McAvoy from Dewinton, Alberta.

They participated in the 148th annual show held in New York on Tuesday night. Doc and McAvoy were there to defend his best of breed title, which he won in 2023.

“This win was not only very prestigious but special as Sheila had announced his retirement from the show ring,” officials said in a statement.
