Upcoming Events and Menu Highlights at Polson Senior Center

Come hear Dustin Blush give a presentation on computer scam awareness at lunch on April 18. There will be meatloaf served, and everyone is welcome to attend, especially the younger generation. Get up to current on timing information by getting in touch with the Polson Senior Center. Get in contact with the center directly for further details.

Western Pleasure Tours will offer a movie at noon on Friday, April 26. Find more about their affordable, contemporary bus trips to many Western tourist sites, including their Kalispell headquarters. Contact us by phone at 208-283-9776.

April is National Volunteer Month! If you or someone you know has volunteered at the center, kindly let us know who they were and what they did.

Past leaders, drivers, commodity helpers, activity leaders, teachers, and anybody else who has kindly given of their time and expertise are all invited. Come enjoy lunchtime festivities during the final week of April, culminating in a spectacular closing Friday that may include a group portrait.

What’s going on at the center is as follows:

  • Wednesday: Play board/dice games such as Backgammon, Dominoes, Scrabble, Mahjongg, Bridge, and Cribbage beginning at 12:30 p.m. in the main hall. You can use the given game or bring your own.
  • AARP Safe Driver Course: This April 23 from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m., with a lunch break, take advantage of savings on auto insurance by enrolling in the most recent AARP Safe Driver Course. It costs $25 to register, or $20 for AARP members.
  • Enroll in this insightful 4-hour course with video assistance taught by qualified educators.
  • Beginning Wood Carvers: Come see us at 1 p.m. on Wednesdays and Fridays. Experience is not required.
  • Tuesday at 1 p.m. is bowling day. The cost of the lane is $13. Visit us at any moment; missing a week is acceptable.
  • Memory Café: A monthly dementia support group that offers snacks and companionship occurs on the first Tuesday from 1 to 3 p.m.
  • VA Representative: The first Friday and the third Tuesday of the month are open for walk-ins.
  • Bingo: Come play bingo with us every Friday night at 6:30 p.m. At 6 p.m., doors open. Every month on the first and third Wednesday at 6:30 p.m., take part in “Playing Card” bingo. It costs $10 or less to enter.
  • Exercise Sessions: With video assistance, sit or stand exercises are given Monday through Friday from 10:30 to 11:30 a.m.
  • Thursdays from 12:30 to 3 p.m. are pie nights.
  • Pool: From 8 a.m. to 3 p.m., there is an open table.

For your meal, please consider making a $5 gift to support our nutrition program. Lunch is offered from 11:45 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. If you phone before 10 a.m., you can choose from sit-down, take-out, delivery, and grab-n-go options.

  • Friday, April 26: Lunch will be a birthday dinner! Savor cake and roast turkey with all the fixings.
  • Meatloaf, baked potatoes, creamed corn, green salad, and dessert are served on Thursday, April 18.
  • Sloppy Joes, tater tots, mixed veggies, green salad, and pistachio pudding are on the menu for Friday, April 19.
  • Monday, April 22: Cookies, pears, cheese bread, and navy bean soup.
  • Tuesday, April 23: Key lime bars, tomato aspic salad, carrots, and ham and scalloped potatoes.
