The first month of 2024 is officially upon us! January has started with a bang as Xbox has revealed the first half of the January 2024 Xbox Game Pass Games lineup, an it features some pretty solid mix of titles. For a closer looking at everything you can expect to play this month (and games you will no longer be able to play) see the details below.
News of the game lineup came courtesy of the Xbox Wire. Megan Spurr, Community Lead of Xbox Game Pass put together a brief blog post highlighting both the games coming to the service and the ones leaving the service in January.
What Games are Coming to Game Pass in January 2024?
There are a total of 8 games currently revealed to be arriving on Game Pass in January. These games include a nice mix of older AAA titles and some indie games. The games coming are:
- Hell Let Loose – January 4th
- Assassin’s Creed Valhalla – January 9th
- Figment – January 9th
- Super Mega Baseball 4 – January 11th
- We Happy Few – January 11th
- Resident Evil 2 – January 16th
- Those Who Remain – January 16th
Also among the additions is a new indie title called Close to the Sun. This title is available today (January 3rd) and can be played if you have a currently active Game Pass subscription.
Now it is important to note that the game additions are only up to January 16th. This means there is another batch of games coming that will fill out the rest of the month. Xbox will release another blog post with details on those.
What Games are Leaving Game Pass in January 2024?
Alongside the new additions Xbox also took the time to highlight games that are leaving the service this month. Players will lose access to Grand Theft Auto V on January 5th, and on January 15th will lose access to the following:
- Garden Story (Cloud, Console, and PC)
- MotoGP 22 (Cloud, Console, and PC)
- Persona 4 Golden (Cloud, Console, and PC)
- Persona 3 Portable (Cloud, Console, and PC)
Overall a fairly okay first post of 2024. The triple AAA games added are a bit on the older side but were some big titles back when they released. Additionally the indie titles included offer a nice bit of variety outside the AAA wheelhouse.
