So, remember the "Aquaman" movie from 2018? You know, the one that made Jason Momoa the ultimate underwater superhero.

Well, it is time for the sequel & Warner Bros.

just dropped the official trailer for "Aquaman and the Lost Kingdom."

Get ready for more action, adventure, and, of course, Jason Momoa looking all badass.

Surprising Success Story

Let's be honest, when they first announced "Aquaman" as a superhero movie, it raised a lot of eyebrows.

Seriously, Aquaman? But then, boom, we got our first look at Jason Momoa in that iconic Aquaman getup, and suddenly, everyone was on board.

The movie did not exactly win over all the critics, but it did something even more impressive – it raked in a whopping $1.15 billion worldwide, becoming the highest-grossing DCEU film.

Quick Recap

In case you forgot (or haven't seen it yet), the first "Aquaman" gave us the lowdown on Arthur Curry, the son of Atlanna, the former queen of Atlantis, and a human lighthouse keeper.

Raised near the sea, he gets some hardcore training from Atlanna's advisor, Nuidis Vulko.

Then he gets a nemesis in the form of Black Manta and has to deal with his half-brother Orm, who's bent on starting a war with the surface world.

Long story short, Arthur becomes the king of Atlantis, and Orm gets locked up.

Diving Deeper

Now, director James Wan is back, & he is eager to dive deeper into the seven underwater kingdoms.

He is also turning this one into a bit of a buddy comedy by exploring the relationship between Arthur & Orm.

What's the Scoop?

The official premise for "Aquaman and the Lost Kingdom" spills the beans. Black Manta is back and angrier than ever.

He's got this mystical Black Trident that's causing all sorts of trouble, and he's not holding back.

The fate of the world is hanging by a thread, and Aquaman needs to team up with his locked-up brother Orm to save the day.

Classic superhero stuff, right?

Familiar Faces & Newcomers

The gang's all here! Jason Momoa, Patrick Wilson, Nicole Kidman, Yahya Abdul-Mateen II – they're all reprising their roles.

Even Amber Heard, Dolph Lundgren, and Temeura Morrison are back in action.

Sadly, no Willem Dafoe this time.

But we've got some new faces like Vincent Regan, Jan Zhao, Indya Moore, and Pilou Asbaek joining the underwater party.

Sneak Peek at the Trailer

The trailer kicks off with Arthur giving us a quick update on his life.

He is not just a superhero; he is a husband and a dad now.

You'll see him changing diapers and doing laundry – superhero life meets dad life.

But it's not all sunny days and diaper duty. Black Manta is back, and he's out for blood.

He's got a new trident and a laser-shooting mask – talk about an upgrade!

And this time, the stakes are global – if they don't stop him, it's meltdown city.

Release Date & Future Uncertainty

Mark your calendars for December 20, 2023, because that's when "Aquaman and the Lost Kingdom" hits theaters.

But here's the kicker – the future of Jason Momoa's Aquaman in the DC Universe is a bit up in the air.

DC Studios is shaking things up, so who knows?

Momoa might still be our Aquaman, or he might be suiting up as someone else entirely.

Time will tell, my friends. Time will tell.
