Story and Plot
The story revolves around a Punjabi family owns a sweets shop Dhanlaxmi Sweets in that family there is a boy called Rocky played by Ranveer Singh came to know his grandfather Kanwal Lund Dharamder loved a girl Jamini Chatter played by Shabana Azmi who is now grandmother of Rani played by Alia Bhatt now how Rocky and Rani now how Rocky and Rani help their grandparents in their love story and in between how love story of Rocky and Rani fell in love themselves this is the movie is all about
Positives
Like every movie of Dharma Productions this movie is also full of big and colourful scenes which look beautiful on the big screen and full of elements like emotions, drama, family values and beautiful locations that looks this movie bright and colourful that manage to keep engage despite of its length
The chemistry between Ranveer Kapoor and Alia Bhatt is good after Gully Boy the pair given another fine acting performance as the leading pair
There are many small sub plots in movie like the actor who played Alia Bhatt’s father also have a small track and there is also small love angle between Dhamender and Shabana Azmi is cute and adds an extra flavour to the movie
As it a big budget movie the production value is good and the way this story present on the big screen is goes very well with the story and screenplay
The emotions are blended in the story.
The movie is full of big scenes all those scenes were very presented on the big screens
As this is a Dharma Productions who known for movies like Kabhi Khushi Kabhi Gham, Kal Ho Na Ho manage to made a decent family entertainer once again
As the movie have a very strong star cast from Ranveer Singh to Shabana Azmi all have done full justice to their roles
Karan Johar as a director did a fine job and presented this story in nice engaging and interesting manner
Negatives
As movie is a family drama that might not attract a section of audience
Karan Johar previous movies like Kuch Kuch Hota Hain, Kabhi Khusi Kabhi Gham got a blockbuster music. Songs. of the movies are still fresh in our minds but not in case of Rocky and Rani Ki Prem Kahaani
Length is another problem with movie which is 2 Hours and 50 Minutes and can be trim 20 that could make the movie fast and pacy
Final Verdict
At Last. Rocky Rani Ki Prem Kahaani is a well- made family drama that have lots of to offer to audience such as romance , emotions and many more that could pull family audience to the theatres
