The Directorate of Revenue Intelligence (DRI) has recovered Cocaine worth Rs 6 crore from a foreign national during investigation at Mumbai Airport. The price of cocaine is said to be around Rs 6 crore. The person had hidden cocaine in his body through capsules.

Directorate of Revenue Intelligence (DRI) has got a big success. DRI has recovered cocaine drugs worth Rs 6 crore from the body of a foreign national at Mumbai International Airport. The person from whom cocaine has been recovered is a Venezuelan citizen and he had landed at Mumbai airport.

When the man’s body scanning was done after landing at the airport, 57 capsules were found in his body. When the capsule was taken out, 660 grams of cocaine drugs were found in it, the value of which was said to be around Rs 6 crore. The man had hidden cocaine in his body to defeat the security devices installed at the airport.

Based on specific intelligence, DRI officials checked the person. On interrogating the passenger, he admitted to consuming capsules containing drugs and carrying them in his body for smuggling into India. The passenger was presented before the magistrate. Following the court order, the person was admitted to JJ Hospital in Mumbai.

DRI busy investigating the remaining members of the syndicate

DRI officials have seized the recovered material under the NDPS Act, 1985. Further investigation is underway to trace other members of this international syndicate involved in illegal smuggling of drugs and psychotropic substances into India. The DRI team is investigating the horoscopes of other members of the syndicate.

In the last few months, many such major actions have been taken by DRI in which drugs and cocaine have been recovered from foreign nationals at the airport. DRI has also busted the drugs syndicate.
