Digital Computer:How Does It Work?

A digital computer works with the help of a lot of hardware component. These hardware components are connected with each other via a central device which is called motherboard. each hardware plays a separate role for computing.some component first receive the data then another component process the data .finanelly the processed information is displayed by some devices.so it is to say that a computer handles information in three stages--Input, processing, and output. Each piece of hardware is categorized in these three stages. whenever we sit down at a computer and run an application --whether it is a game, spreadsheet, database, or word processor-we are in an active part of the input, processing and output operation of that computer.

Three stage of computing

Input:

input is the first one of the three stage. That means at this stage some peripherals receive the raw data for processing. Today's computer can receive data from a wide variety of input devices. Such as Keyboard, mouse, microphone, modems, scanners, tape drives, CD/DVD drive, digital cameras, and joystick etc.

Processing:

It is the second stage of the three-stage. It is the real stage of computing data. Today computers process an ever-expanding list of activities, including scientific and business works, as well as processing data for education, entertainment, organization and much more. The microprocessor which handles the operation of calculating data according to the instruction. The microprocessor also run most of our day to day life mechanical and electronic devices including cars, cameras, VCRs microwave ovens, telephone and even supermarket checkout systems.

Output:

Now it is the time to get back the processed data in the real form. which is the output stage of the computing. just think we input some letters and format the letters as it should be a printed document. output devises today come in many forms: monitors, printers, fax machines, modems, plotters, CD-Rs, sound cards and more.
