In a bid to bolster economic growth and provide numerous Job Opportunities, the administration of Abia State, led by Governor Alex Otti, has revealed plans to establish a massive cement factory in Ohafia. The proposed factory is expected to create over 36,000 job opportunities, significantly impacting the local economy.

Deputy Governor Ikechukwu Emetu announced the ambitious project during a courtesy visit by a delegation from the Ohafia School of Thought at the Government House in Umuahia, the state capital. The factory aims to harness the vast limestone deposit found in the region, making it an ideal location for such an industrial venture.

Emetu highlighted that besides generating employment, the cement factory would also attract the establishment of banks, industries, and various service providers in the area. This would contribute further to the economic development of Ohafia and the state as a whole.

During the meeting, Deputy Governor Emetu reaffirmed the administration's commitment to fulfilling its campaign promises to the people of Ohafia and the state. He expressed gratitude to the Ohafia School of Thought for their unwavering support during the recent elections, promising not to let them down as a member of the school.

Addressing the administration, the secretary of the Ohafia School of Thought, Rev Ikechukwu Ebi, praised the government's commendable strides in the early stages of their tenure and expressed hope for a development-oriented term.
