1. U.S.-IRAN PRISONER SWAP |
It was an incredible scene Monday as Americans who had been held for years in Iranian prisons stepped off an airplane and into freedom. Five Americans were released in exchange for five Iranians who were held in American prisons; the U.S. also allowed nearly $6 billion dollars in humanitarian aid to flow into Iran. The exchange happened the day before the U.N. General Assembly convenes. |

The president's son, Hunter Biden, is suing the IRS, claiming two agents illegally shared his tax info to shame him as his legal troubles grew. He alleges the pair disclosed his confidential data in press interviews and in congressional hearings, neither of which is allowed by whistleblower protections. Biden was indicted last week on federal gun charges. |

Officials have found a debris field north of Charleston, S.C., in their search for a F-35B Lightning II fighter jet. It went missing after a Marine Corps pilot safely ejected over the weekend in a "Class-A mishap" — which means it cost the military $2.5 million or more in damages. It was the third incident of that scale in just the last six weeks. Accidentally wearing two different color shoes to work is a "mishap." A missing fighter jet … there has got to be a better word for that. |

Planned Parenthood in Wisconsin began offering abortions again Monday, a year after the U.S. Supreme Court overturned Roe v. Wade. At the time Wisconsin lawmakers believed a law from the mid-1800s automatically went into effect prohibiting abortions. Recently a judge determined that was not the case (in fact, it may never have even been the law). |

A Texas high school student is fighting the in-school suspensions he has received over his hairstyle. After he was told his twisted dreadlocks violated school rules about boys' hair length, he pinned them up on his head but was suspended again. The family says this is discrimination that is now unlawful under the state's new CROWN Act, which prevents people from being penalized for wearing natural hairstyles. |

NBA legend LeBron James recently surprised students at a Minnesota high school. Students gave King James a standing ovation when the curtain rose on the school stage and there he stood. He thanked the principal for allowing him to use the school's athletic facilities during the week. The school is a few miles from the Mayo Clinic, where his son Bronny was treated after going into cardiac arrest this summer. |

DISNEY BEAR: Disney's Magic Kingdom bear-ly opened Monday after an unticketed visitor made it into the park. Luckily, officials finally found the black bear that was spotted hanging out in a tree, likely stocking up on food before hibernation (really). And after the bear ate, he headed over the teacups ride for a sip. DOUGHNUT BEARS: Speaking of fattening up, two bears in Alaska raided a Krispy Kreme van that was making a delivery to a military base. The driver pounded on the side of the van to try to scare them away, but he was no match for a bunch of delicious doughnut holes. |
