Poultry producers lament the skyrocketing cost of feed.

The Poultry Association of Nigeria (PAN) has urgently appealed to President Bola Tinubu's administration for intervention in addressing the significant increase in the cost of poultry feeds.

PAN warns that if the government does not act promptly to address this issue, it could result in the complete collapse of the Poultry sub-sector.

Mr. Hakeem Musa, the Secretary of PAN, FCT Chapter, emphasized the need for government Intervention, suggesting grants to farmers to help them sustain their businesses.

Musa highlighted the continuous rise in feed prices, citing an example with layers mash, and expressed concern about the impact on poultry farmers.

He attributed the high cost of feed to factors such as inadequate maize and soybeans, essential ingredients for feed production, and the ban on maize importation.

The PAN Secretary urged President Tinubu's administration to focus on the poultry industry and provide necessary intervention to support the sector.
