Coalition protests Kano's verdict in the governor's race and charges the court of being biased.

Twenty-six civil society groups united under the Eye on the Judiciary Coalition (EJC) have issued a response to the recent Appeal Court judgment on the Kano State gubernatorial elections.

During a meeting in Lafia, Nasarawa state, the Coalition expressed shock, characterizing the judgment as a clear indication that justice in Nigeria is now influenced by financial considerations.

The group alleged that a thorough review of the judgment reveals inconsistencies and contradictions, suggesting partisanship and compromise.

The EJC Coordinator, Comrade Salisu Musa Yahaya, cited past instances, such as the Supreme Court's decision in the Bola Tinubu V Peter Obi case, to highlight the judiciary's perceived inconsistency and contradiction.

The coalition urged the Governor of Kano State to appeal to the apex court, even in the face of waning faith in the judiciary, to either affirm the popular victory of Governor Abba K. Yusuf or contribute to its own destruction by upholding lower courts' decisions that have raised doubts among Nigerians.
