The Hollywood Reporter named Mo Abudu the top foreign female executive in entertainment.

The illustrious Nigerian media mogul Mo Abudu has been recognized as the Top International Woman Executive In Entertainment by The Hollywood Reporter, a prominent American digital and print publication founded in 1930 and devoted to the entertainment sector. Her extraordinary contributions to the global entertainment business are exemplified by this prestigious honor.

The Hollywood Reporter's annual list honors outstanding women who have made contributions to the global Entertainment industry, and Mo Abudu stands out among this elite group. Mo Abudu has left an imprint on the world stage with a career characterized by invention, tenacity, and unrestrained inventiveness. She has been a key factor in the success of many movies, including "Fifty," "The Wedding Party," "Your Excellency," and "ltré," in her capacity as CEO of EbonyLife Media. She has established herself through a variety of business ventures, and Forbes has dubbed her "Africa's Most Successful Woman." Abudu is in charge of EbonyLife Media, which includes EbonyLife Films, EbonyLife Studios, the EbonyLife Creative Academy, a school dedicated to advancing filmmaking abilities, and EbonyLife Place, the country's first upscale entertainment destination.

With notable studios like Sony, AMC Networks, Netflix, Starz, Lionsgate, BBC, Westbrook Studios, and Will Packer Productions, Mo Abudu has had a fantastic path that has led to international collaborations. Her status as a revolutionary leader in the entertainment sector has been cemented by her dedication to developing talent, encouraging collaborations, and fighting for enabling policies.

Mo Abudu thanked The Hollywood Reporter from the bottom of her heart for this distinction and said, "To be the first on a list of 35 remarkable women, representing diverse corners of our global industry, is both a privilege and a responsibility." She underscored her commitment to programs that promote African creativity, offer financial opportunities, develop local talent, encourage international collaborations, and broaden the scope of the EbonyLife Creative Academy.

One of her notable achievements was the introduction of "Blood Sisters," the first Netflix Original Nigerian series that was successful and recognized around the world. Her partnership with Idris Elba's Green Door Pictures also intends to promote African and African-American talent, fostering a more inclusive and varied media scene.

This honor is all the more meaningful because Mo Abudu is the only entertainment executive from Nigeria and Africa included in The Hollywood Reporter's list of 35 exceptional women.

This honor not only recognizes her past successes but also urges the entertainment industry to work toward a more inclusive, diverse, and motivating future. Mo Abudu hopes to keep reshaping the sector and maintaining our rich cultural legacy in collaboration with others.

The UK government has appointed Mo Abudu as the Creatives Champion for the next UK-African Investment Summit, further establishing her position as a leading figure in the entertainment industry and continuing her remarkable career.

Mo Abudu recently embraced a very personal interest as a creative and not just as the CEO and Studio Executive after a decade of developing the EbonyLife brand.  She founded Mo Abudu Films and wrote and directed her first two short films, which did incredibly well on the international film festival circuit, making official selection at three Oscar qualifying film festivals. She did this because she felt it was time to give expression to some very personal stories.
