Tinubu affirms Adeniyi's appointment as the customs chief.

Adewale Adeniyi has been confirmed in his position as the Comptroller-General of the Nigeria Customs Service with the support of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu.

This was revealed on Friday by a representative for the Secretary to the Government of the Federation, Willie Bassey.

Bassey claims that Adeniyi's appointment is effective as of October 19, 2023.

He said that the Public Service Rules (PSR)'s current provisions apply to the next Comptroller-General of Customs' mandate.

President Tinubu has given him the job of applying all of his skills to his new task.

After replacing former CG Hameed Alli in June, Adeniyi has been serving in an acting capacity.

He was up in the town of Modakeke, Osun State, and graduated from Modakeke High School in June 1979.

He graduated from Obafemi Awolowo University, OAU Ile-Ife, with a Bachelor of Science in international relations in June 1987.

Additionally, he graduated in November 2013 with a Master of Arts in communication science from the Università della Svizzera Italiana (USI) in Lugano, Switzerland.

In addition to serving as the Customs National Public Relations Officer (Headquarters Abuja) among other responsibilities, he joined the Nigeria Customs Service and advanced to the position of Deputy Comptroller of Customs in 2012.
