Aiyedatiwa is accused by a group of organizing the PDP's next demonstration against Akeredolu.

The Ondo Masses Solidarity Movement (MSM) has levied allegations against the embattled Deputy Governor of Ondo state, Lucky Aiyedatiwa, asserting his involvement in the disrupted demonstration organized by the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in response to Governor Oluwarotimi Akeredolu's absence.

As to the collective, the objective of the protest was to instigate a situation of crisis and disrupt the ongoing impeachment proceedings concerning the Deputy governor.

According to a statement issued by its coordinator, Ogunyemi Jeremiah, it was stated that Aiyedatiwa had been engaging with opposition parties and young individuals with the aim of mobilizing them to gather on the streets of Akure and demonstrate against the governor.

According to reliable sources, it has been reported that the deputy governor allegedly incited the protest and had previously provided financial support to some individuals in order to participate in the demonstration. An assembly took place at a hotel located in Alagabaka, Akure during the previous evening, during which a distribution of funds occurred among the younger demographic.

As individuals with vested interests in the affairs of our state and representatives of the general public, we vehemently denounce the actions of the besieged deputy governor. The acts of the deputy governor and his determination to incite unrest within the state have evoked a profound sense of astonishment.

We express our gratitude for the security agencies for effectively responding to the situation. It is acknowledged that the protest had the potential to result in indiscriminate damage to both property and human life.

One aspect of the plot, which was ultimately thwarted by the security forces, involved the intention of the demonstrators to ignite a tanker filled with fuel in the vicinity of the state capital. Additionally, there was a premeditated intention to demolish the House of Assembly complex.

The intended demonstration was not aligned with the collective interests of the general population. The general population is currently benefiting from the provision of palliative measures, as well as experiencing a significant boost in economic activity attributed to the consistent disbursement of salaries and leave bonuses within the region.

We implore conscientious Nigerians and individuals residing in the state to caution the deputy governor against engaging in actions that may incite turmoil inside our beloved state. It is imperative that we draw lessons from historical events and take proactive measures to prevent any actions that may pose a threat to the stability and security of our state.

Where were these individuals situated during the time when the general public required a representative to advocate for their interests? During the period of instability, we found ourselves in a state of helplessness, even within the confines of our own residences. During the period when Governor Rotimi Akeredolu was engaged in a confrontation with the federal government, advocating on behalf of the populace residing in the Southwest and Southern regions of Nigeria, it is pertinent to inquire about their whereabouts.

We hold the belief that this instigated demonstration is not aligned with the welfare of the general population. We refuse to remain passive while a faction driven by monetary incentives seeks to disrupt the prevailing tranquility within the region.
