Leke Abejide, an ADC candidate in the Kogi election, promises to rebuild the Kabba-Olle road within 100 days of taking office.

Expressing concern for the plight of the residents of Bunu district in the Kabbabunu local government Council of Kogi State, who face daily challenges due to the severe deterioration of the main road connecting their communities, Leke Abejide, the governorship candidate for the ADC party in the upcoming November 11 election in Kogi State, has pledged to prioritize the repair of this road within the initial 100 days of his tenure if elected.

On Friday, the candidate for the Governorship position expressed their commitment during a visit to the supreme monarch and Olubunu of Bunu, Oba Joseph Ikusemoro, at his palace. The visit served as a continuation of his campaign tour to the Kabba/Bunu council.

Abejide voiced concern on the apparent neglect of the Road by successive administrations in the state. He highlighted that the road, which was initially constructed in the early 1960s, not only connects key communities but also holds significant economic advantages for the state.

The candidate running for governorship sought the endorsement of the king and pledged to revitalize the state by establishing industries that would position it as a prominent industrial center within the nation.

In his response, Oba Ikusemoro expressed that his domain has consistently experienced neglect from successive governments. He proceeded to enumerate several fundamental amenities, such as well-maintained roads, access to clean water, reliable energy, and contemporary market facilities, which are now lacking for his constituents.

However, he offered prayers in his role as a royal figure, extending a warm welcome to the candidate. It is important to note that traditional monarchs do not hold any bias towards a specific candidate. Nevertheless, he strongly encouraged political actors to refrain from engaging in acts of violence and adhere to established regulations and norms.

During his speech at a large gathering held at Demonstration Primary School in Kabba, Abejide encouraged the attendees to actively participate in the Upcoming November 11 governorship election by voting in favor of the ADC party.

The individual stated that, in their capacity as a legislator, they have had a significant impact on the lives of marginalized individuals, including widows, orphans, and the disadvantaged, through a range of empowerment initiatives. They further expressed their commitment to further enhancing their efforts to bring about good change if elected.

Abejide expressed assurance that the issue of unpaid salaries for workers and delayed gratuities for pensioners will be effectively addressed, ensuring that such occurrences will no longer persist. Furthermore, he emphasized the commitment to ensuring that every village within the state will have access to a reliable supply of piped water.

Additionally, he made a commitment to elevate Kogi State to become the primary source of food production for the nation. This would be achieved through the provision of contemporary agricultural machinery to facilitate the use of automated farming practices. Consequently, this initiative would generate employment prospects for both young individuals and women.
