New leaders are appointed by Tinubu in the communications, innovation, and digital economy sectors.

On Wednesday, President Bola Ahmed Tinubu granted approval for the appointment of new leadership within the domains of communications, innovation, and digital economy in Nigeria.


The selection of new and returning Chief Executives to fresh terms in office across numerous agencies has been officially confirmed by Ajuri Ngelale, the spokesperson for President Tinubu.


According to Ngelale, the appointments fall within the purview of the Federal Ministry of Communications, Innovation, and Digital Economy.


Aminu Maida has assumed the position of Executive Vice Chairman/Chief Executive Officer at the Nigerian Communications Commission (NCC), while Nkechi Egerton-Idehen has been appointed as the Managing Director/Chief Executive Officer of the Nigerian Communications Satellite Limited (NIGCOMSAT).


Kashifu Inuwa Abdullahi has been appointed as the Director General/Chief Executive Officer of the National Information Technology Development Agency (NITDA), while Dr. Vincent Olatunji will assume the role of National Commissioner/Chief Executive Officer of the Nigeria Data Protection Commission (NDPC).


Tola Odeyemi has been designated as the newly appointed Postmaster General/CEO of the Nigerian Postal Service (NIPOST).


Ngelale stated that in addition, aligning with Tinubu's commitment to effectively utilize Nigeria's established technological and digital economic capabilities to strategically reposition the country's economy towards enhanced financial inclusivity, the President has granted approval for the appointment of a new Special Adviser for his administration.


According to Ngelale, Idris Alubankudi has assumed the position of Special Adviser to the President on Technology and Digital Economy.


The aforementioned appointments are to be implemented immediately as per the directive of the President.
