Ohaneze tells Governor Soludo, "You have made Igbos proud by honoring late Chinua Achebe."

Chief Damian Okeke-Ogene, vice president of Ohaneze Ndigbo Worldwide, has praised Anambra governor Chukwuma Soludo for renaming the Umueri International Cargo and Passenger Airport after the late Prof. Chinua Achebe.

In a press release issued on Saturday in Awka, Okeke-Ogene claimed that the act was a tribute to the Ndigbo people, Africa, and the entire black race.

He urged other South-East governors to erect memorials to the late literary great who devoted his entire life to promoting Igbo social and cultural identity around the world.

The late Achebe maintained the fight and outcry against "marginalization, injustice, and suppression of Ndigbo" through his creative works, according to Okeke-Ogene.

He made enormous efforts to give the Igbo people a powerful voice and recognition all over the world while also standing out for Africa and the black race in general.

He also remembered how Achebe, in all humility, passed away while serving as President General of Ogidi Town Union in the Anambra County LGA of Idemili North.

According to Okeke-Ogene, Achebe's literary accomplishments honored the rich cultural traditions and heritage of the Igbo people, which will continue to inspire current and future generations and contribute to the preservation of Igbo cultural identity.

He pointed out that the honor would continue to serve as motivation for upcoming authors, who would now be encouraged to look into career options in the creative sector in order to realize their full potential.

The Ohaneze VP stated that the distinction has a positive impact on young writers because they are aware that history and future generations would recall, honor, and remember them.

Okeke-Ogene expressed happiness that Soludo has continued to work on programs that directly affect people's lives and Human Capital development.

He stated that his free education program will give every child simple access to high-quality instruction in order to develop their human capital in the same manner as Achebe did in his formative years.

"The free education provided by the government of Anambra is noteworthy because it would inspire future generations to explore who they are and strive to be like successful academic figures in the state and beyond.
