Kano Tribunal: Yakasai, Ganduje's former assistant, explains why Abba Yusuf lost to the APC.

Salihu Tanko Yakasai, a former media assistant to Abdullahi Ganduje, the former governor of Kano State, asserted that Abba Yusuf's defeat at the electoral tribunal was brought on by the "reckless and indiscriminate demolition" he had ordered across the state.

He claimed his action destroyed the goodwill he had with the populace.

"Abba Kabir Yusuf lost Kano on the day he started carrying out that careless and indiscriminate demolition.

"The one thing they had going into the elections was the support of the Kano metropolitan area, that demolition erased that goodwill completely, and that's the day he lost Kano," tweeted Yakasai.

Nasiru Yusuf Gawuna of the All Progressives Congress, APC, was named the victor of the Kano Governorship Race by the Governorship race Petition Tribunal, which met in Kano on Wednesday.

Following the tribunal's cancellation of certain votes cast for Yusuf, the NNPP candidate, the panel issued its final ruling.

Justice Oluyemi Akintan Osadabey, the presiding judge, declared that the NNPP's vote advantage was insufficient to grant Governor Yusuf victory.
