According to a statement by Brigadier General Onyema Nwachukwu, the Director of Army Public Relations, the military personnel successfully closed down an Illicit Refining facility. The site was found to contain 44 drums, three reservoirs with an estimated capacity of 30,000 litres of unlawfully processed Automotive Gas Oil (AGO), and 53 bags of AGO.
In addition, he facilitated the dismantling of four operational illicit refining camps in the Opumami Community, located inside the Warri South Local Government Area of Delta State.
According to the statement, the operatives dedicated to combating oil theft dismantled three wooden boats, six ovens, six reservoirs, 11 drums holding unlawfully refined AGO, one sizable reservoir filled with pilfered Crude Oil, 38 bags of stolen crude oil, and two tapping hoses.
In a subsequent occurrence, the collaborative forces of 192 Battalion and 26 Task Force Brigade Garrison, in cooperation with the Hybrid Force, carried out offensive maneuvers on Thursday in the broader regions of Gobara, Ambaga, and Madachi within the Gwoza Local Government Areas of Borno State.
As per Nwachukwu's account, it was reported that the military forces successfully eliminated three individuals affiliated with the Boko Haram Terrorist group (BHT). Additionally, they were able to retrieve various weapons including an AK-47 rifle, a Beretta Pistol, 17 rounds of 7.62mm Special Ammunition, four rounds of nine mm ammunition, and a dane gun.
